RUSTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Tommy McClelland says head men’s basketball coach Michael White has agreed to a six-year extension worth $3.6 million.

White has been the head coach at Louisiana Tech for three seasons. His record of 74-31 gives him the best winning percentage at the 100-game mark of any men’s coach in school history.

The past season was Tech’s first in Conference USA. The Bulldogs went 29-8, winning a share of the league’s regular season title and only narrowly missing the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament when they lost in the conference tournament championship game to Tulsa.

White says Louisiana Tech’s administration is providing the necessary resources for athletic teams to succeed and says he “couldn’t be more excited about the future of Bulldog basketball.”
