Body found in suitcase is identified

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) - The body of a man found inside a suitcase in a wash in Glendale has been identified as a 21-year-old San Pedro resident.

Los Angeles County coroner’s officials tell the Los Angeles Times (https://lat.ms/1dQPGVo ) an autopsy is pending for Victor Manuel Moreno.

County workers discovered the suitcase Monday morning as they were cleaning out the Verdugo Wash about five miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

Officials say the suitcase was large enough to hold the body, and the man, who was clothed, had not been dismembered.

Police say the man was probably killed somewhere else and the body dumped in the wash later.
