JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri House Democrats have picked a St. Louis City representative for a leadership role.
The caucus on Monday chose Rep. Kim Gardner to be policy chair. She replaces Rep. Rory Ellinger, of University City, who died earlier this month from liver cancer.
Democrats say the policy chair helps prepare members for upcoming legislation on the House floor.
Gardner was first elected to the House in 2012. She is seeking re-election this year.
