MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A 32-year-old Mason City woman has been given a suspended sentence and probation for theft.

Jacqueline Hollenbach had pleaded guilty to theft for using a bogus credit card to go on a spending spree. The Mason City Globe Gazette says (https://bit.ly/1mVu62z ) Hollenbach was sentenced on Monday to 10 years in prison, suspended, and three years of probation.

Authorities say Hollenbach had obtained the card by misusing the name of her boyfriend’s mother. Police say Hollenbach rang up more than $1,000 in purchases with the bogus card between Oct. 18, 2013, and Jan. 28.
