CHICAGO (AP) - A suburban Chicago man has been found guilty of mailing and emailing death threats to politicians, police officers and oil executives.

Ronald Haddad Jr. of River Forest was convicted Monday by a federal jury in Chicago.

Among the targets of his threats were former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and former Chicago Ald. Bernard Stone. He also sent threats to oil executives in Texas and California and to police officers in River Forest.

The 38-year-old stuffed some of his mailings with shotgun shells, white powder and other substances apparently intended to look like poisons. None of the contents turned out to be harmful.

He is scheduled to be sentenced July 21. He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each of 30 counts.
