CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - A Canon City judge has scheduled a June hearing to consider the evidence against a sex offender accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl and killing her mother, brother and sister.

Jaacob Vanwinkle is being held without bond in the March 9 triple slaying. The Canon City Daily Record (https://bit.ly/1foSvO6 ) reported Tuesday that Judge David Thorson has set a preliminary hearing for three days starting June 30.

Police say the 16-year-old ran to a neighbor’s to report the sexual assault. Police then found the bodies of her mother and siblings and arrested Vanwinkle, who had been living with the family.

Documents in the case have been sealed but the judge is considering whether to unseal the affidavit for Vanwinkle’s arrest. He may decide by the end of the week.
