LAURELVILLE, Ohio (AP) - A southeast Ohio grand jury has indicted two former village police chiefs on charges that they sold two used police cruisers for their own profit.

The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1hM2mfy ) reports that 44-year-old James Taylor was Laurelville police chief until 2009, and 42-year-old Frank Diamond was acting chief for a time after Taylor left.

Both have been charged by the Hocking County grand jury with diverting two cruisers meant for the village. Taylor has pleaded not guilty to a 14-count indictment that accuses him of obtaining a 2001 Crown Victoria by deception from Pike County government officials.

Diamond was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property. He hasn’t entered a plea, and it wasn’t clear if he had an attorney yet.

Laurelville is about 50 miles southeast of Columbus.
