PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities are investigating a homicide after a body was found in a central Phoenix smoke shop that was on fire.

Phoenix police say they were called to the Smoke N’ Pipe about 10 a.m. Tuesday after a shopper found a man who appeared to be dead.

Police have identified him as 47-year-old Kadhim Al-Taee and say he was a smoke shop employee.

Officers arrived at the business and found it had been ransacked, with apparent signs of a struggle.

They also extinguished a small fire inside the business, prompting Phoenix fire investigators to get involved.

Police have detained several men for questioning in the case and are seeking two to three others.

They’re also looking for a gold, late-model SUV connected to the business that was taken in the robbery.
