Two soldiers were killed and two others injured when a car bomb exploded near the gates of a military facility that’s located by an airport in Benghazi, authorities said Tuesday.
The attack seemed to be the work of a suicide bomber, an army spokesman told Agence France-Presse.
Benghazi has been the focal point of a range of attacks that have plagued Libya since the ouster of long-time leader, Muammer Gaddafi, BBC reported. Most notable were the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. compound in Benghazi that left four Americans dead, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.
So far, nobody’s claimed responsibility for the attack, which hit the Special Forces barracks, AFP reported.
