COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) - Lowndes County Supervisor John Holliman says a tornado east of Columbus knocked trees onto houses and took the roof off a store.

But he says that so far, there are no reports of injuries from the twister Monday evening.

He says a tree fell on a car, but the driver was not injured.

In Columbus, Councilman: Kabir (kuh-BEER) Karriem (kuh-REEM) says trees fell on some houses there.

The duty officer at Columbus Air Force Base says the tornado did not hit the base.
