R&B singer Tank will not go through with singing the national anthem at Tuesday’s Los Angeles Clippers playoff game, in protest of racist comments allegedly made by team owner Donald Sterling.

“As an African-American man and artist, I must take a stand on a matter that is so deeply personal to me,” the singer told TMZ.

“In light of the recent disturbing and offensive allegations, in good conscience, I cannot move forward with my scheduled appearance at Tuesday’s Los Angeles Clippers game,” he said.

Tank told the gossip website that he won’t do anything for the NBA until the league completes its investigation of Mr. Sterling.

The Clippers face the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of their first-round series at the Staples Center on Tuesday.
