CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Red Ventures says it plans to hire 580 workers in North Carolina and is making plans to spin off tech startups by the end of 2018.
In an announcement from Gov. Pat McCrory’s office on Monday, the company also plans to invest more than $2 million at its Charlotte location.
The company handles customer calls for corporations and creates websites for companies and sells and markets their products.
McCrory said Red Ventures’ campus in Indian Land, S.C., is undergoing a 180,000-square-foot expansion set for completion in May, and its University Research Park office, which opened last year, has plenty of room for growth.
Red Ventures said it will add at least 144 North Carolina jobs this year and at least 522 by 2018 in return for a state tax break of up to $3.2 million. The new jobs must pay an average of at least $48,110 a year to keep the tax break.
In March, the company announced it was closing operations in San Antonio and Miami and moving about 280 jobs to Charlotte. A spokeswoman said move of those jobs involved inside sales.
