GREENLAND, N.H. (AP) - More than 1,000 people took part in the third annual run honoring a New Hampshire police chief, who was shot to death while serving a warrant at the home of a suspected drug dealer in Greenland.

Participants followed the 6.2-mile course between the police departments in Greenland and Stratham on Sunday for the Chief Michael Maloney Unity Run.

Maloney was shot on April 12, 2012, while trying to help four drug task officers who were wounded. The home’s occupant, Cullen Mutrie, and a female companion from Maine, died in a murder-suicide.
