MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota has added three players to its 2014-15 recruiting class, including Minnesota native Zach Lofton.

Gophers coach Richard Pitino also announced the signing of Gaston Diedhiou (gas-TOHN’ dee-EH’-doo) and Bakary Konate (buh-KAR’-ee kuh-NAH’-tay) to national letters of intent on Monday.

Lofton played in high school at Columbia Heights, helping the Hylanders reach the Class 3A championship game as a senior. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 11.3 points as a sophomore last season at Illinois State. He spent his freshman season at San Jacinto College in Texas.

Diedhiou is a 6-foot-9 forward from Senegal who played at Canaris Basketball Academy in Spain.

Konate is a 6-foot-11 center who played at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kan. He will help address a lack of size in the Gophers frontcourt.
