CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - More than 1,300 people are expected to attend an annual conference for social workers this week in Charleston.

The 2014 Spring Continuing Education Conference for Social Workers begins Wednesday and runs through Friday at the Charleston Civic Center.

The keynote speaker is Melissa Stockwell. She is the first Iraq War veteran to compete in the Paralympic Games. She lost her left leg in a roadside bomb explosion in Baghdad in April 2004.
