VERONA, N.Y. (AP) - State police say two people have died after being hit by a train in central New York.

The Utica Observer-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1hDK5kI ) reports that the man and woman were struck as they stood on tracks in the town of Verona around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victims were in their mid-50s but didn’t release their names or further details about the incident.
