MAYFLOWER, Ark. (AP) - The National Weather Service has received multiple reports of damage from a suspected long-track tornado that swept through central and northern Arkansas on Sunday night.
According to the weather service, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission headquarters east of Mayflower was destroyed in the storm, and several homes in the Saltillo area of Faulkner County were damaged.
The weather service says multiple homes and a fast-food restaurant were damaged in Vilonia, and many downed trees were reported.
Forecasters issued several tornado emergency warnings on Sunday night - meaning a confirmed tornado was on the ground. The emergency warnings began around 7 p.m. in Maumelle in Pulaski County and continued through the night as the storm moved northeast.
