MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Drivers in Vermont are being warned to be on the lookout for moose this time of year.

Fish and Wildlife Department officials say moose are on the move and likely to be crossing roads, often after dark or in the early morning as they move from wintering areas to spring feeding spots.

Officials say more moose are hit by cars in the spring than in any other season. The crashes also increase in the fall, during moose breeding season.
