BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - An animal shelter is caring for 21 dogs seized during a crackdown on dog fighting in Buffalo.
Buffalo police gathered the dogs during searches of several sites on Friday.
They were helped by a team of experts from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in New York City. ASPCA experts say many of the seized dogs have scars and wounds consistent with fighting, and some appear to be emaciated and in poor health.
The dogs are in the care of the Buffalo-area SPCA.
