MARION, Iowa (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine what caused a house fire in northeast Iowa that killed one person.

The fire was reported around 2:45 a.m. Sunday in Marion.

When firefighters arrived, three people had already exited the home safely, but a fourth family member did not make it out. That person died.

The Marion Fire Department says the fire started in the room where the individual died, but they are still investigating.

The name of the victim wasn’t immediately released.
