SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Two men charged in the shooting death of a man in northeastern Pennsylvania will be tried separately.

A Lackawanna County judge on Friday severed the cases of suspects Jason Dominick and Neil Pal. They’re accused of gunning down 24-year-old Frank Bonacci of Dunmore last year.

Judge Terrence Nealon previously denied a motion to try the men separately. But according to The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1mK8OEW), Nealon reversed course after Dominick’s attorney sought to introduce evidence of prior “bad acts” allegedly committed by Pal.

Both 23-year-old suspects are charged with murder and conspiracy. Dominick’s trial is set to begin Monday. Pal’s case will begin June 2.

Prosecutors allege Bonacci was killed following an all-night party at Pal’s house. His body was found in his SUV in a ravine in July.
