DENVER (AP) - Multiple law enforcement agencies across Colorado are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration to offer people a chance to safely dispose of prescription medication.

KUSA-TV reports (https://on9news.tv/1iZFkT0 ) the DEA is working with state and local law enforcement to collect and dispose of the drugs at more than 100 locations in the state from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The chemicals in prescription drugs can harm wildlife or the environment if thrown away or flushed down a sink or toilet. Drugs left in trash bins or by the curb also can be stolen and abused.
