CHICAGO (AP) - Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon has been ejected for the first time this season.

Maddon was thrown out in the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday night’s game at the Chicago White Sox. It looked as if Maddon was upset with umpire Tim Timmons’ call of a check swing by leadoff batter Adam Eaton.

Eaton grounded out after Maddon was ejected by Timmons.

The Rays had a 4-0 lead over the White Sox through eight innings.
