DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities continue searching for a 4-year-old boy may have been killed along with his mother in the basement of a house where investigators found some blood evidence.

Dayton police and fire personnel used water rescue rafts and a helicopter on Saturday to search the Great Miami River for Zaden McKnight.

The body of the boy’s mother was discovered April 11 near the banks of the Stillwater River in the Dayton suburb of Harrison Township. Police say 25-year-old Nichelle McKnight and her son vanished in March.

Police say a suspect in the disappearances died of a self-inflicted gunshot in a shootout with police April 7.

Authorities also have been searching the Stillwater River and vacant buildings near the home where the evidence was found
