COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio’s first thoroughbred racetrack is squeezing in a few more events before horse racing there comes to an end next weekend after 91 years.
The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1ruvlru ) reports a historical discussion and a craft beer festival are among the activities scheduled this weekend at Beulah Park in Grove City, south of Columbus.
Penn National Gaming is moving the facility’s thoroughbred racing to a new track near Youngstown that will also have slots-like video terminals. It will be one of several so-called racinos around Ohio.
Beulah Park was founded in 1923. Its last day of racing is scheduled May 3, with the annual Derby Day celebration.
