SANDY, Utah (AP) - Sean Reyes is officially the Republican party’s candidate for Utah attorney general and will face Democrat Charles Stormont in the race this fall.

Delegates for the state Republican and Democratic parties cemented Reyes and Stormont as their picks during state nominating conventions on Saturday.

Both candidates were unopposed in their parties.

Reyes has been serving as attorney general since December, when Gov. Gary Herbert appointed him to replace Republican John Swallow.

Swallow stepped down after accusations of wrongdoing, which he has denied.

Stormont is an attorney who works in the civil division of the attorney general’s office.

There are also several third-party challengers are also in the race.

The general election is scheduled for Nov. 4.
