WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Palm Beach County commissioners say they’re making the price at the pump a little clearer.
They unanimously passed a law mandating gas stations make clear on their signs if the price is only for cash purchases. If not, stations need to display the highest per-gallon cost.
The Palm Beach Post reports (https://bit.ly/1iiNk1w) the measure also says station owners must illuminate their signs so they’re visible at night. Representatives of three stations spoke out against the changes, saying it would cost them thousands of dollars in upgrades.
Officials plan to begin enforcing the law on May 1, 2015. Stations will face fines if they’re not in compliance.
