FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Fargo city leaders are preparing for record growth in south Fargo.

City commissioners met with the Fargo Planning Commission Friday to discuss strategies to keep up with rapid development in the city, mainly in the southern region.

Fargo saw a record high of more than $377 million worth of new building permits last year.

WDAY-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1fiNiHq) the city could see more than double that this year and more than 1,100 new residential lots.

Officials say streets and utilities, flood protection and connectivity are key areas for the city to watch.
