URBANA, Ill. (AP) - A Kankakee man has been sentenced to nearly 21 years in federal prison for the 2009 robbery of the Shapiro Development Center Employees Credit Union.

Brian O. Williams was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Urbana on Friday and ordered to pay restitution of more than $284,000.

The 37-year-old Williams pleaded guilty on April 17 to one count of aggravated bank robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm.

Williams admitted that on June 16, 2009, James Williams drove him and Frank C. Black to the credit union where they threatened employees with violence and took $276,000.

Brian Williams was sentenced to serve more than seven years in prison while Black was ordered to prison for nearly six years.
