PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Motor Vehicle Division is expanding the number of contractors that will be able to provide driver’s licenses and identification cards to residents.
The agency announced Friday that four businesses are scheduled to expand their operations by mid-June, with the first starting next week in Mesa. The others are located in Yuma, Phoenix and Sierra Vista.
State officials say third-party providers have successfully processed title and registration transactions for more than 20 years. As Arizona continues to grow, they say the expansion in the driver’s license program will give customers more options.
Before the expansion, there were only three contractors authorized to process driver’s licenses.
