NEW YORK (AP) - New York City police are searching for whoever killed a teenage boy near his Brooklyn home during a brazen daytime shooting.

Police say 16-year-old Michael Moore was shot at about 12:45 p.m. Saturday on East 53rd Street in the East Flatbush neighborhood, next door to his own home.

They say he suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The teen was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests.

Witness Jose Perez tells the Daily News (https://nydn.us/1kgUDWW) the shooting was “shocking.”

He says he ran over to Moore after the shooting, who was shaking and bleeding from the mouth.
