CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago White Sox claimed right-hander reliever Hector Noesi off waivers from the Texas Rangers on Friday.
The White Sox expect to have Noesi in Chicago to throw a bullpen session for pitching coach Don Cooper before Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Noesi allowed 10 runs in 6 1-3 innings for the Rangers in five relief appearances. He started the season with the Seattle Mariners and was traded to the Rangers on April 12 for cash considerations.
Noesi’s last appearance came on Sunday against the White Sox. He was tagged for seven runs in one inning. He was designated for assignment on Tuesday.
The 27-year old right-hander is 4-16 with a 5.81 ERA in his career.
