NEW YORK (AP) - Super Bowl organizer Frank Supovitz is leaving the NFL to start an event management and consulting firm.
The NFL says Friday that Supovitz, a senior vice president of events, will leave in June after helping run next month’s draft and taking part in the selection of a host for the 2018 Super Bowl.
Commissioner Roger Goodell says Supovitz “consistently delivered results that were, to use one of his favorite words, spectacular. We look forward to the opportunity to work with him again.”
Supovitz joined the NFL in 2005 after serving 13 years at the NHL as general manager of event marketing and group vice president of events and entertainment. He also worked for Radio City Music Hall Productions.
He’s the author of “The Sports Event Management & Marketing Playbook.”
