Sen. Ted Cruz is headlining an annual Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday for the Carroll County Republican Committee in New Hampshire — putting the Texas Republican and possible 2016 presidential contender back in the first-in-the-nation primary state for the second time this month.
The invite shows that a ticket for the dinner of Saturday runs $60 and attendees can pay $100 to personally meet with Mr. Cruz, a freshman lawmaker who has become a darling of tea partyers and grassroots conservatives since being elected in 2012.
Mr. Cruz attended the Freedom Summit, hosted by Citizens United and the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, earlier this month in Manchester.
A University of New Hampshire poll released this month showed that Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky leads the pack of potential presidential contenders among the state’s voters, capturing support from 15 percent of those surveyed.
In the survey, Mr. Paul is followed by Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, both of whom received 13 percent, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who received 12 percent.
Mr. Cruz received 5 percent.
