SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - The creation of a 50-foot-tall mural on a Saginaw parking structure is being described as “Saginawesome.”

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1px5Xnk ) the mural on the previously utilitarian structure across from The Dow Event Center was dedicated Thursday. It’s the work of children from the city as well as Saginaw Valley State University students.

John Kaczynski, an assistant professor of political science, says Saginaw needs to be “Saginawesome” and “this is what Saginawesome looks like.”

At the mural’s top, the phrase “I just like to make marks” acts as a headline.

The mural’s makers say the words came from a girl who was drawing possible ideas for the mural. Kids involved in the project are from Saginaw’s First Ward Community Services program and the United Way’s Healthy Kids Healthy Futures program.
