Pat McCrory attending Moogfest in Asheville, The Associated Press reported erroneously that McCrory’s office had said a scheduling conflict would prevent him from attending. A Moogfest spokeswoman said McCrory would not attend due to a scheduling conflict.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory has appeared at an Asheville music festival despite initial indications that he would skip the event.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (https://avlne.ws/1ijvqa4) McCrory appeared at a Moogfest VIP pool party atop the Aloft Hotel. A Moogfest spokeswoman had said he would not attend the event, citing a scheduling conflict. The governor’s office later said event organizers had asked him not to attend.
McCrory said Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer had called and encouraged him to come to town. The governor said he’d planned to be in Asheville anyway to attend the North Carolina Airports Association’s annual conference at the Grove Park Inn on Thursday.
While attending the party at Moogfest on Wednesday, about 80 people gathered for a protest of his presence and policies backed by his administration.
