LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - For the second time in a week, a man has been arrested after being caught with a loaded gun at a Lynchburg Regional Airport checkpoint.

The Transportation Security Administration says a Lynchburg resident was stopped Thursday after a TSA officer operating the checkpoint X-ray machine spotted the loaded 9 millimeter automatic pistol in a carry-on bag. The passenger was ticketed to fly to Indianapolis through Charlotte.

TSA contacted airport police, who arrested the man on a state weapons charge.

A similar incident occurred April 17 when an Indiana resident was arrested after a loaded handgun was found in his carry-on bag.
