JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Fulham and D.C. United will play an exhibition game in Jacksonville on July 26.

The match at EverBank Field will be part of preseason preparations for Fulham. The English club currently is trying to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The game will come during midseason for D.C. United, a four-time champion in Major League Soccer.

Fulham is owned by Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan. He says he’s looking forward to “introducing Fulham not only to Jacksonville, but to fans throughout the state and nation.”

Jacksonville wants to brand itself as a destination for professional and amateur sports. Khan and the city funded two of the largest video replay boards in the world, hoping the $63 million addition will raise the city’s sports profile and help land a college football playoff game.
