TOKIO, N.D. (AP) - An FBI spokesman confirmed Friday that it is working with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to investigate the death of an infant on the Spirit Lake Reservation.

Spokesman Greg Boosalis says the child was from Tokio and was pronounced dead Thursday.

Boosalis says the investigation is standard procedure and doesn’t necessarily mean there was any criminal activity.

The BIA is leading the investigation. Boosalis said he couldn’t provide any more details at the moment.
