ROGERS, Ark. (AP) - U.S. Sen. John Boozman’s office says the Republican from Arkansas is continuing in his recovery from heart surgery.
Boozman’s surgeon, Dr. E.J. Chauvin, said Friday that Boozman will be able to fully return to his duties without any restrictions.
Boozman went to a hospital Tuesday when he suffered chest and shoulder pains. Doctors found Boozman had experienced an acute aortic dissection - a tear in his aorta - and had to operate to replace his ascending aorta.
Chauvin says Boozman is in excellent physical condition and that is helping his recovery.
Boozman spokesman Patrick Creamer says the senator has been walking, talking with family and friends and also spoke to his chief of staff.
