CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Two dozen teams of eighth-graders will compete for the West Virginia History Bowl championship next week.

The competition sponsored by the West Virginia Division for Culture and History is set for Tuesday the Culture Center in Charleston.

The teams represent 18 schools from 15 counties. They advanced from eight regional tournaments held across the state.

The double-elimination tournament includes lightning rounds and team rounds featuring questions about state and county history, culture, geography, government, heritage, sports and tourism.
