HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a 22-year-old convenience store employee remains in the Forrest County jail on a $25,000 bond charged with felony rape.

Eduin Morales Renoso made his first appearance Wednesday in Hattiesburg Municipal Court.

The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/1psFzLr ) Remoso was arrested and charged Tuesday with taking a customer into the store’s restroom where the alleged rape occurred.

Lt. Jon Traxler says the victim went to a hospital for treatment, and then alerted police.

It was unclear whether Renoso has an attorney.
