COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Police in southwestern Illinois are searching for three men who they say stole $31,000 worth of iPads from a Collinsville Wal-Mart store.

Authorities said Wednesday that they’re looking for the men who managed to snatch the tablets last week from a display case.

The theft took place April 14 around 2:30 a.m.

Collinsville police say the same trio is suspected of trying to steal the devices earlier in the morning from another Wal-Mart store in Arnold, Mo. An employee there stopped them.

The popular gadgets cost between $399 and $929 each.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Collinsville Police Department.
