ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Rochester have charged two men with the fatal shooting of a western New York man and the wounding of his acquaintance earlier this week.

Officials tell local media Thursday that 19-year-old Ralik Coffie and 26-year-old Victor Martin Jr., both of Rochester, are charged with second-degree murder and robbery. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Police say 49-year-old Ronald Stern of Holley in Orleans county was found dead in a retail store’s parking lot soon after the shooting was reported early Tuesday afternoon in southwest Rochester.

Police say 47-year-old Earl Cartwright of Kent was treated and released from Strong Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound to the lower body.

Officials say police and emergency crews found both victims after they had driven to the parking lot.
