SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico Republican Gov. Susana Martinez is traveling to Utah and California to raise money for her re-election.
Martinez campaign spokesman Chris Sanchez said the governor will hold a fundraiser Thursday with Utah Gov. Gary Herbert and will speak at the Western Republican Leadership Conference in Salt Lake City.
The governor heads to California Thursday evening for weekend fundraisers in Irvine and San Diego.
Martinez, who is the nation’s first female Hispanic governor, returns to New Mexico on Sunday.
Sanchez said the re-election campaign is paying for the governor’s travel expenses.
The Martinez campaign reported cash-on-hand of $4.2 million earlier this month.
Five Democrats are running for the party’s gubernatorial nomination in the June 3 primary.
