DENVER (AP) - Former U.S. Rep. Bob Beauprez (bo-PRAY’) is making his first live pitch to Republican voters Thursday at a Republican gubernatorial debate.
Three of the four candidates challenging Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper will participate in the KUSA debate - Beauprez, Secretary of State Scott Gessler and former state Sen. Mike Kopp. Former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo says he won’t debate fellow Republicans.
Beauprez has yet to make a personal pitch to statewide Republicans, having skipped the state assembly.
The debate comes a day after a poll suggested Hickenlooper leads his potential Republican challengers.
The poll from Quinnipiac (KWIHN’-ih-pee-ak) University said that 52 percent of Colorado voters approve of the job Hickenlooper is doing.
