SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Student government leaders at the University of Utah passed a resolution Tuesday pushing to change the school’s fight song amid concerns it is sexist.

The song, which is more than 100-years-old, is called “Utah Man” and includes lyrics such as “our coeds are the fairest.”

Associated Students President Sam Ortiz says the fight song should be as inclusive as possible to honor campus diversity.

The resolution now moves to University of Utah President David Pershing and other administrators, who would decide about changing the song over the next year.

The school’s Alumni Association floated such tweaks years ago but decided to keep the current lyrics.
