SAN DIEGO (AP) - A hot-air balloon made an unplanned landing on a San Diego street, backing up traffic as local residents helped guide it down.

KGTV reports (https://bit.ly/1pqCFH4 ) the colorful balloon was blown off course and the pilot decided to land it around 7 p.m. on Duenda Road in Rancho Bernardo.

On board were eight passengers, including children, celebrating a birthday party and the pilot. Nobody was hurt.

San Diego fire spokesman Lee Swanson says residents held the balloon’s ropes and directed vehicle traffic as the balloon deflated and collapsed onto the roadway.
