LAS VEGAS (AP) - Owners of SLS Las Vegas say they’ve already gotten five times more applicants than jobs available at the redesigned and remodeled former Sahara hotel on the north end of the Strip.
Company officials tell the Las Vegas Review-Journal (https://bit.ly/PqnP2z ) they’ve received nearly 15,000 applications to fill some 2,700 jobs.
The 1,600-room resort is expected to open Labor Day weekend after a more than $400 million renovation that started last winter.
The Sahara once hosted Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
Los Angeles-based SBE Entertainment and private equity firm Stockbridge Capital Group of San Francisco bought it in 2007 and closed it in May 2011 for the remodel.
SBE operates 60 restaurants and nightclubs, including hotels in Los Angeles, New York and Miami.
Officials say applications are only accepted online at slslasvegas.com/careers.
