Looking to erase any doubts about her political future, Sen. Elizabeth Warren insisted that she is not planning to run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2016.
“I’m not running for president,” Mrs. Warren, a Democrat, told ABC News’ David Muir during an interview at her home in Cambridge, Mass.
Mrs. Warren, who has become a favorite of the left wing of the Democratic party, brushed aside headlines that suggested she could turn into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s “nightmare” in a presidential primary race.
“I don’t get who writes these headlines or what they’re about. I think there’s just kind of a pundit world out there,” she said.
Mrs. Warren is releasing a new book this week, titled “A Fighting Chance,” which has sparked additional speculation about her future plans.
Asked about Mrs. Clinton, Mrs. Warren said, “I think Hillary Clinton is terrific.”
